Malířka a grafička Markéta Bábková (1993) se ve své tvorbě dlouhodobě zaměřuje na výzkum principů zpřítomnění. Zabývá se otázkami, co přítomnost vůbec je, jaký naplňuje status a jak ji lze časově vymezit a vizuálně podchytit.
Iluze přítomnosti v současném díle Markéty Bábkové má mnoho podob. Jedním z klíčových metod, které používá, je překlopení čtecího klíče, znejasnění epicentra námětu a zaostření jeho okraje (Novotvar/Dream together, 2025). Z dění na periferii obrazu odhadujeme ústřední námět, který zůstává zastřen. Tím nás umělkyně vztahuje do rekonstrukční databanky naší paměti a do depozitáře naší imaginace, prostřednictvím kterých tak ve svém vědomí vstupujeme do obrazové situace a oslabujeme tak svou fyzickou a s ní i společenskou přítomnost v galerii. Potkáváme se vzájemně ve zcela jiné dimenzi, kterou můžeme směle nazvat iluzí přítomnosti. Neboť se díky autorce propojujeme prostřednictvím malířské iluze s jinými místy v jiných časech.

Painter and graphic artist Markéta Bábková (1993) has long focused on researching the principles of alienation in her work. She deals with questions about what presence is, what status it fulfills, and how it can be temporally defined and visually captured.
The illusion of presence in Markéta Bábková’s contemporary work takes many forms. One of the key methods she uses is to flip the reading key, blurring the epicenter of the subject and focusing on its edge (Novotvar/Dream together, 2025). From the events on the periphery of the picture, we estimate the central subject, which remains obscured. In this way, the artist relates us to the reconstruction databank of our memory and the depository of our imagination, through which we enter the pictorial situation in our consciousness and thus weaken our physical and, with it, social presence in the gallery. We meet each other in a completely different dimension, which we can boldly call the illusion of presence. Because thanks to the author, we connect through the illusion of painting with other places in other times.
