Obrazy Jaroslava Valečky jsou stejnou měrou uklidňující, jako strašidelné. Odráží celý rozpor našeho materiálního i spirituálního bytí. Příroda nás štědře obdařila vnímáním krásy, ale limity lidského společenství, pomíjivost a dočasnost nám komplikují pozemskou cestu často nepochopitelnými zákruty a excesy. Přetrvávající posvátné rituály masopustu a Halloweenu narušují a zesilují zimní krutost.

Jaroslav Valečka’s paintings are equally soothing and spooky. They reflect the entire contradiction of our material and spiritual existence. Nature has generously endowed us with the perception of beauty, but the limits of human society, transience and temporality complicate our earthly journey with often incomprehensible twists and excesses. The persistent sacred rituals of Carnival and Halloween disrupt and intensify the winter cruelty.
